Sean Krakiwsky, President & CEO, Founder
Nanalysis is Mr. Krakiwsky's fourth tech startup over a 15 year period, raising roughly $20M in equity funding for those companies. Previously he founded and built a high performance computing company called Acceleware (TSXV:AXE) providing software solutions to harness the parallel processing capabilities of multi-core GPUs/CPUs for the Electronic Design and Oil & Gas industries. Mr. Krakiwsky has an M.Sc. and B.Sc. in Electrical Engineering from the University of Calgary, and was drafted by the Los Angeles Kings Hockey club in 1986 - he played in their farm system for two years, before going back to school in 1990.
Dr. Garett Leskowitz, Chief Technology Officer
Dr. Leskowitz has been researching miniature NMR technology for over 15 years. He received his Ph.D. in Chemistry from the Calfornia Institute of Technolog and his B.Sc. from MIT. He has two patents and over 50 publications to his name, and was the Head Teaching Fellow of General Chemistry at Harvard University. Dr. Leskowitz is the visionary behind Nanalysis' family of benchtop spectroscopy products, and is the inventor in Nanalysis' main NMR-on-a-chip patent (from Caltech). Dr. Leskowitz enjoys jazz music and plays sporadically in a band.
Bruce Lix, Director of Product Management
Mr. Lix spent the last 10 years of his career managing the largest NMR facility in Edmonton for Industry and Academic Clients. He has worked as the president of a business consulting firm, and as Staff Scientist at Synphar Technologies from 1988-95. He has an MBA, from the University of Alberta, as well as a B.Sc. in Chemistry from the University of Regina. Mr. Lix enjoys woodworking in his shop, as well as the occasional round of golf.
Dr. Andreas Wissmann, Director of Business Development
Dr. Wissmann is an entrepreneurial scientist with over 15 years of startup experience doing research for large pharmaceutical companies. He works at the interface of science, technology commercialization and executive responsibilities. Experienced in both start-up and larger-size companies with an understanding of the big picture required to achieve success. He is an Adjunct Professor at the University of Calgary and has been an advisor to major pharmaceutical companies. Dr. Wissmann has a Ph.D. in Microbiology and Biochemistry from Friedrich-Alexander University Erlangen-Nuremburg.
Dr. Greg McFeetors, Director of Engineering
Dr. McFeetors completed his Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from the University of Calgary where he implemented an NMR-on-a-chip system using MEMS. He has been a Microfabrication Researcher at the Advanced Micro/nano Integration Facility and a recipient of a Killam Fellowship. Dr. McFeetors is an avid skier and hockey fan.
Andrew Hillson, Vice President of Operations
With over 20 years of experience in the tech industry, Mr. Hillson has specialized in solution architectures, development planning, technical marketing and project management with large telecom (Nortel Networks) and wireless tech startups. He has designed, developed and deployed numerous back office control systems for wireline and wireless terminals. Mr. Hillson has degrees in Physics and Computing Science from the University of Alberta.
