Plasticizer Assays for Quality Control Using Benchtop NMR Spectroscopy (2024)

Acetyltributyl citrate and tributyl citrate, functionalized derivatives of citric acid, are commonly used as plasticizers in the polymer industry. In this application note, we demonstrate equivalency to the current USP-NF monograph assay method, which requires the use of gas chromatography (GC). This is done using benchtop quantitative nuclear magnetic resonance (qNMR) spectroscopy.
