USP-NF: Polyoxyl 10 Oleyl Ether

Average Polymer Length Determination for Polyoxyl 10 Oleyl Ether (Oleth-10) According to USP-NF Monograph Method Using 1H Benchtop NMR (2022)

Polyoxyl 10 oleyl ether, also known as oleth-10, is an oleyl alcohol-based polymer containing a terminal poly(oxyethylene) fragment and commonly used as an emulsifier in soaps, deodorants, creams, and detergents, among others. In this application note, we demonstrate that benchtop NMR spectroscopy can perform the average polymer length test as described by the current USP-NF monograph method.
